On The Rampage – Feelgood Stories…in Disguise

Comandante Records & Sunny Bastards

On the Rampage may be a fairly new band having formed in 2017 but the members of the Dutch/Belgian outfit have tons of experience between them and feature members of Evil Conduct and Tech-9 in their ranks. The 4-piece featuring Jeng (vocals), Joost (bass), Robert (guitar) and Frank (drums) set out to play hard-hitting, no-nonsense street punk with a melodic edge. I have to say that they have achieved this with the 12 excellent songs on this impressive debut album which is out now through Sunny Bastards and Comandante Records.

The tracks on ‘Feelgood Stories…in Disguise are all bass-driven, melodic and rough sounding and has a traditional Oi! feel which could easily have been recorded in the early eighties. Right from the opener ‘Where Is The Enemy’ the band had me hooked with their rowdy Oi! sound and deliver anthem after anthem on one of my favourite albums of the year so far.

The album has so many highlights including ‘Lacing Up’, ‘Reason Why’, ‘Fly The Flag’, ‘Bonzo Goes to Town’ and the excellent ‘Feel The Beat’ which is probably my favourite track on the album. On The Rampage have given us a fantastic album that should be in your collection. Go and check it out!
