Hard Headed – Strength in Unity

Smith & Miller Records

Hard Headed are a Streetcore Rock ‘N’ Roll band from Belgium who are about to release their excellent debut album ‘Strength in Unity’ through Smith & Miller Records. The 5 Piece of Roos (vocals), Tim Spin (guitar), Conan (guitar), Vromans (bass) and Nijssen (drums) have all been in various Punk bands such as Reproach, Havoc, Koncept and The Filth to name a few but decided to join forces in 2019 to form Hard Headed and the result is impressive.

‘Strength in Unity’ has 12 razor-sharp tracks which are full of anger and are written and played well and makes for a brilliant listen. The songs are all played fast with short sharp riffs, powerful drums and snarling vocals which cover themes such as loyalty, unity, and the working class.

The band had me hooked with the excellent opener ‘Strength in Unity’, but the album has so many highlights including ‘Government Issues’, ‘Politicians’, ‘Nowhere to Go’, ‘Shitville Wankers’ and the excellent ‘Where’s the Loyalty?’. For me, though the standout track is ‘Working Class Bootboy’, a brilliantly written track with a cracking sing-along chorus and I absolutely love it.

All in all, Hard Headed have delivered a great debut which is well worth checking out.
